A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life's Purpose

Today I want to spend some words about a new and great book I'm reading from Eckhart Tolle, a book that I definitively want to suggest you: A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life's Purpose. In this new Tolle's book, the author expands the ideas that are at the basis of his previous book, the bestseller (with more of 2,000,000 copy sold) The Power of Now. He tries to show his readers how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world. Tolle tries to explain is a very simple way how our attachment to ego creates the dysfunction that leads to anger, jealousy, and unhappiness, and shows readers how to awaken to a new state of consciousness and follow the path to a truly fulfilling existence.

The Appeal by John Grisham

Do you have read the newest book by John Grisham? The Appeal (that is the #1 Bestseller in the last 4 consecutive weeks) is a book about buying the election of a supreme court justice. The story is centered on the little city of Bowmore, Mississipi, where over 60 residents have died from cancer due to the city's contaminated water, and many others are very ill. The law firm of Payton & Payton has gone bankrupt in representing Jeannette Baker (she is a a Bowmore resident who lost her husband and son to cancer) against the Krane Chemical, the company who has been illegally dumping their toxic waste into the city's water supply for years. After much deliberation, the jury has reached a verdict and has awarded Jeannette $43 million for wrongful death and punitive damages. But, after a while, the firm realizes that the check hasn't been cut and that Krane's attorneys has appealed the verdict to the state supreme court. Stop now...if you want to know about the The Appeal by John Grisham, you just need to buy and read it!

Mills & Boon - romance novels

Do you have ever read Romance Novels? I think that this genre is perfect for relaxing and for escaping for a while from the everyday routine...I like for example taking a long hot bath (with a sweet background music) and reading historical romance novels...I suggest you to try, it's like to re-born! And if you are searching for a good site where to find nice romance novels, I want to suggest you to visit the Mills & Boon website, an interesting shop from UK specialized in books about romance: between its pages you can find any kind of novels like historical one (the genre that most i like) , romance, superromance, intrigue, blaze, desire novels and so on. The site permits you also to browse the archive by authors (I also suggest you novels from Anne Herries, a great writer that is able to really capture your attention with a very polite writing) or by country (you will be redirected to another site).
All the books available on Mills & Boon have a price extremely interesting, probably the lowest you can find online (you fill find lots of publication for less then £3). In the mira section, you will also find great books (like A Grave Mistake by Stella Cameron) heavy discounted respect normal retail price (25% off cover price).
Don't forget also to take a look at the free online reads section: every two-four days Mills & Boon adds a new chapter of a bestseller...a nice gift to all its users.

Mills & Boon

What was the most romantic experience that you have ever had? thinking at my past, probably the most beautiful moment was about ten years ago, during a little period spent in Los Angeles. I still remember how was magic the night and during a splendid dinner on the terrace. Candle lights, a great starred sky, the smell of the ocean and her...one of the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. And then a never ending walk on the ocean's narrow, no one with us except the the ocean waves and their relaxing sound. I adore the sea when it's not perfectly quite, l love to hear the waves crushing on the shore...and I adore do this with my love!Do you think that I'm too romantic? I think no...I ever thought that romance is extremely important in a relation and I think that it is the Love's salt. Everyone, maybe deep in the hearth, is romantic: don't cover your emotions...simply be yourself, you will live better.
OK, stop now, this preface was really long! I've written of this experience thanks to Mills&Boon, an interesting shop from GB specialized in Romance Novels, romantic stories, romance books and everything that was (and is) written about romance. A great online bookstore with hundreds of different books , all grouped in categories that you can browse using the left menu. And all at a very interesting price. Don't forget to visit also the "mira" section: all books listed here are discounted by 25% respect cover price.
A great feature of the website is the Free Online reads section: Mills&Boon in fact offers to its users a free book to read directly online (actually The Last Chance Lord by Miranda Jarrett) and the possibility to receive, directly at your house and without obligation to buy, two free books selected in four categories: romance, superromance, historical and modern. How to catch this opportunity? Just click on the banner on the homepage, read the rules (extremely simple) and wait for your shipment!

Blurb

Blurb is a company and a community that believes passionately in the joy of books – reading them, making them, sharing them, and selling them.

Holding a finished book with your name on the cover is a truly amazing feeling; it’s one of those experiences everyone should have. As software people, designers, and publishing professionals at the top of our game, we realized something both incredible and obvious: there’s no good reason why it should take tons of time, technical skills, big bucks, or friends in high places to publish a book. Or a zillion books, for that matter.

So we put our minds together, and developed a creative publishing service simple and smart enough to make anyone an author – every blogger, cook, photographer, parent, traveler, poet, pet owner, marketer, everyone. (This means you.)

LibraryThing

LibraryThing is almost certainly the leading independent social network for books, although a newcomer just created a rival product - Shelfari launched in October and aims to represent your book collection on a virtual bookshelf. They also support profile pages and networks of friends. LibraryThing’s new recommendations are neat, but they also highlight a major competitor: Amazon. Amazon are certainly getting wise to social networking, and could spell trouble.

BookTribes

Booktribes is a new social network for book lovers. List the books on your shelf and the titles you’re reading, find users with similar tastes and join groups. All the basics seem to be present, but we’re less blown away than we were by rivals Shelfari and LibraryThing.

Lulu

Founded in 2002, Lulu is the web's premier independent publishing marketplace for digital do-it-yourselfers. It's the only place on the web where you can publish, sell and buy any and all things digital — books, music, comics, photographs, movies and well, you get the idea. We simply provide the tools that leave control of content in the hands of the people who created the content. You see, Lulu is a technology company, not a publisher. So you can use Lulu to publish and sell any kind of digital content, and no one here is going to ask you to change anything. Ever. Your vision is entirely YOURS.
There is no set-up fee and no minimum order to publish and sell on Lulu. We manage the online business, including printing, delivery and customer service. You set your own creator revenue for each piece of content, and at the end of each quarter, we'll mail you a check for the creator revenues your content generates. Lulu makes a small percentage from each transaction, which means that we only make money if you succeed in selling your work.No set-up fees. No minimum order. No delay. No catch. Lulu prints and ships each book as it's bought. The buyer pays the cost — not you. Lulu only makes money if you do. You retain all rights to your work. You decide on design and layout. You set the price and creator revenue. Lulu's not the publisher — you are.
Lulu lets you sell your work through Amazon, Borders, Barnes and Noble — and on Lulu itself. Lulu handles all transactions, order tracking and shipping.

Microsoft Live Search Books

spinoff della popolare software house. La Microsoft, come google, ha cominciato a scansionare le più importanti biblioteche mondiali rendendo disponibile i libri in formato pdf consultabili (ovviamente solo alcuni!) gratuitamente! gli altri basta pagarli...

Live Search Books is a search service for books, part of Microsoft's Windows Live range of services. Microsoft is working with a number of libraries, including the British Library, to digitise books and make them searchable, and in the case of out-of-copyright books, available across the web.
Microsoft is currently running a Windows Live Search Books Publisher Program to encourage book publishers to send their books to be scanned and and indexed for the service.

Google Books

spinoff del popolare motore di ricerca. La software house ha cominciato a scansionare le piùimportanti biblioteche mondiali rendendo disponibile i libri in formato pdf consultabili (ovviamente solo alcuni!) gratuitamente! gli altri basta pagarli...

Google Book Search is a tool from Google that searches the full text of books that Google scans and stores in its digital database. The service was formerly known as Google Print when it was introduced at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October 2004. When relevant to a user's keyword search, up to three results from the Google Book Search index are displayed above search results in the Google Web Search service (google.com). A user may also search just for books at the dedicated Google Book Search service. Clicking a result from Google Book Search opens an interface in which the user may view pages from the book as well as content-related advertisements and links to the publisher's website and booksellers. Through a variety of access limitations and security measures, some based on user-tracking, Google limits the number of viewable pages and attempts to prevent page printing and text copying of material under copyright protection. Shelfari

Uno scaffale virtuale sul web per scoprire nuovi libri, ostentare la propria biblioteca e al tempo stesso interagire con altri utenti secondo i dettami del networking sociale. L'obiettivo? Valorizzare il piacere di una buona lettura.

Shelfari is a Seattle-based social network for book lovers that launches today. And while the email I received managed to cram in comparisons to Digg, Flickr and YouTube, plus the dubious decision to call users “shelfarians”, the service itself is very good.
Users create personal bookshelves of books they’ve read, plan to read and currently own. You can search for books by title, author, ISBN and subject, or import a text file from services like Delicious Library or LibraryThing (a Shelfari competitor). Your bookshelf is literally a shelf, allowing visitors to browse through your book collection using a real-life analogy. It goes without saying that you can also tag the books in your collection.

Book Revyoo

BookRevyoo (che si pronuncia come 'book revue') è una comunità che mischia i siti sociali con le votazioni alla digg per una risorsa online tramite cui scrivere, leggere e votare recensioni di testi su ogni argomento.

BookRevyoo is a social book review community where you can add books to be reviewed, post your own reviews, and rate reviews by others. BookRevyoo gives you an easy and fun way to share your opinions on books you read!Tag books with relevant keywords and discover just how easy it is to categorize, organize, and browse. Lastly, you can easily stay on top of your favorite book reviews through the power of RSS.
